Signature exercise
The Cartographer Challenge™
A timed intelligence exercise inside a synthetic case containing dozens of apparently disconnected entities. Find the hidden network — and be able to defend every line you drew.
The network was always there. You just couldn't see it yet.
Rounds
Round 01 — Orientation
42 synthetic entities, no stated relationships, three victim reports.
Round 02 — Discovery
New evidence arrives mid-round. Your first map is now partly wrong.
Round 03 — Falsification
THE ADVERSARY submits a competing explanation you must defeat or accept.
Round 04 — Briefing
One page, confidence stated, alternatives named, provenance disclosed.
How you are scored
Relationship discovery
Did you find the network, not merely nodes?
Evidence quality
Is every claim anchored to a defensible artifact?
False positives
Penalised heavily. Confident wrong links cost more than gaps.
Reasoning quality
Did the route to the conclusion hold?
Confidence calibration
Was your stated certainty honest?
Source provenance
Can the origin of each artifact be shown?
Ethical compliance
Minimization, authority limits, victim protection.
Final briefing quality
One page a decision-maker can act on.
The rule of the challenge
The best investigator is not the fastest. The best investigator is the one whose conclusion survives scrutiny.
A confident false link costs more than an unfinished map. Calibration is part of the score.
